The Syramed μSP6000 syringe pump and Volumed μVP7000 volumetric pump can be arranged in a stack, freely to the users needs without having to configure any of these pumps. Volumetric and syringe modules can be mixed in a stack as needed. Each pump unit automatically configures its communication as it is placed into the stack.

Pumps can be taken out of the stack and moved around without losing infusion data for the traceability. All data is stored internally during the time the pump is not in the stack without direct connection to the network. As soon as the pump detects a connection the infusion data is transferred to the eMR. The innovative event tracking system of arcomed allows to reduce the data flow so a network with hundreds of pumps can be easily managed.

The drug library allows to detect contra indications between drugs or compatibility with a particular patient before the drug is taken to the patient. The library is open and expandable and can be adapted on the fly by the responsible staff. The descriptions are transferred to the pump by bar code, hence the drug library in the pump is automatically updated and the concept allows unlimited amount of drug displays a bit of body text

Each bag or syringe can be labelled with a comprehensive label including a bar code. The drugs are assigned to the individual patient for maximum patient safety. The UniQueCONCEPT™ Smart docking station contains a bar code reader for each patient and allows to confirm and register the correct drug settings at the patient site.

The rate and volume settings are attributed to the drug and are automatically transferred to the pump before the syringe is loaded or the IV line is installed. Pre-setting helps the staff to ensure correct settings of the pumps.

The settings can be adapted to the needs of the patient at any time directly on the pump concerned. Pre-setting also automatically switches on the pumps when needed and indicates to the user which pump is suitable for the drug. All the settings are displayed on the alpha numeric LCD of each syringe or volumetric pump to avoid any possibility of confusion.  

The UniQueCONCEPT™ Smart docking station is ethernet based and can be connected to any standard ethernet based intranet or internet. Each UniQueCONCEPT™ is allocated a unique IP address with allows to access every pump in the entire hospital from any point in the hospital with respect to the defined access rights. If desired, the status of a pump could be accessed through the internet from any point in the world. 

The current UniQueCONCEPT™ Smart docking station is web based, hence all data, pre-setting and drug library can be accessed independent of hard- and software. Whether it is a windows based PC, Unix workstation, MacOS or Linux system, all systems can connect simultaneously using a standard web browser.  The interface protocol of the arcomed range is clearly defined and open to everybody who desires to develop a custom made system.
